HI. I am new to this hostboard but wanted to find out if anyone else out there has any signed American Girl dolls. I have a couple and find that by looking at them I can learn a lot about the differences between the really old, first made dolls and the ones that are newer. It seems that by reading through great websites such as midnitemo I can find out about differences in certain accessories that were made (such as Molly's globe and ballerina) but I think there are even more differences out there. Does anyone else have really old things so that we can compare notes on what was what? For example, my signed Molly came with glasses that are COMPLETELY different than the ones they make today. There was no glass in the lenses and they have a holder strap across the back. Has anyone else seen this? Also, she came with a deck of playing cards and a harmonica and I can't find similar ones on any website or in any old catalog. BUT I did see some on an e-bay auction once. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hmm, they came WITH the doll? That's interesting, I've never heard anything like that before. Could you take some pictures? I wonder if Samantha and Kirsten came with anything like that at some point?

Sorry about the confusion with the cards and harmonica. I bought the signed doll recently through an estate sale. All of the items with Molly were from the original owner-- some of her outfits and accessories. In with these things was the harmonica and the deck of cards. If I can figure out how to upload pictures I will add them so others can see what they look like.

Still trying to figure out how to add the right sized photos. In the meantime, here is a link to that auction which shows the same deck of cards and harmonica that I also got with the things that came with the signed Molly. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I have all the catalogs starting in January 1987. I believe this was the first one. None of them show a harmonica with Molly. I also have a signed Felicity that I got directly from AG. What a great idea to check her against the other Felicity's. I can't tell about the glasses. Photographers take the glass out of glasses so they wouldn't have a reflection.

The first Molly's glasses did not have glass. The little snow globe you got is a real collectors items. The cards and harmonica, I don't know about. It would be interesting to find out where they came from. Do they have any PC markings? There is a deck of cards that comes with a retired AGOT night time treats. Oh, the green dress your doll came in is not the original Christmas dress for Molly. The first dresses did not have buttons down the front.

Your Molly needs the downy dunk. It will really help her hair. She looks lovely and I am sure you will love her.

Welcome to the board, my name is Kim. I can't really help with dating older items, especially Molly items, I'm more of a Kirsten buff Just wanted to welcome you to the board, there's so much useful information here!
